Read the Ingredients-Always look at the ingredients, and don't buy Dog food that contains the following on their ingredient list,Corn, Wheat, Soy, BHT, BHA, Propylene Glycol.
Filler Foods-Look out for brands that list 5 types of rice, that's not high quality food for your Dog, that just filler. For example if the ingredients read,Venison Meal, Whole Brown Rice, Ground Rice, Rice Gluten, Rice Bran, Poultry Fat (preserved with mixed Tocopherols, a source of Vitamin E), Rice Flour, Dried Plain Beet Pulp, Oatmeal, Natural Flavors. Then those are all rice and all filler, not providing your pup with quality nutrition.
Meal Source-look out for foods that don't name a specific meat source, for example instead of "Chicken Meal" they list "Poultry Meal". You have no idea what kind of things are going into making that meal source.
Go Organic-To really ensure the best quality and health for your Dog you should just opt to buy only organic dog food. Just like when us Humans eat organic foods, there huge health benefits for eating foods that are organic. Brands like Natura Karma organic,PetGuard Certified Organic Food, and Castor & Pollux Organix provide the best organic Dog food for Man's best friend.
Make your Own-If you really cant trust any store brought food, just like baby food, you can make your own homemade Dog food. This helps to ensure the quality and health of the food. Just Google "How to make homemade Dog food" and you will see page after page of recipe sites, and instructional videos. The recipes are pretty simple and are so beneficial to giving you piece of mind that you know exactly what your Dog is getting in their food.
