Is Body Wash Safe?

As I was shopping for some beauty essentials over the weekend, I picked up a body wash bottle and thought "I wonder if body wash contains any harmful chemicals". After I got home I couldn't stop wondering if there was a way that some chemical in the wash could be absorbed through the skin, enter the blood stream and cause some toxic reaction.

The Following are Potentially Harmful Chemicals found in Body Wash:
-Triclosan (antibacterial and antifungal):
    May cause Immunotoxicity
May cause skin or sense organ toxicity
Restricted for use in cosmetics in Canada and Japan
Can combine with chlorine in tap water to form chloroform, a probable carcinogen
  -Propylene Glycol(Antifreeze):
     May cause Immunotoxicity
May cause skin or sense organ toxicity (skin irritation, skin drying, eye irritation)
    May cause respiratory toxicity
-Sodium Laureth Sulfate Aka SLES (Foaming):
Allows other chemicals to penetrate skin more deeply and enter bloodstream.
    Skin irritant
Can be contaminated with diomane, a hormone disrupter linked to breast cancer.
-Sodium Lauryl Sulfate aka SLS (Foaming):
Takes the body longer to break down residue.
Can cause dry skin, itchy skin, canker sores and eczema.
    Most common skin irritant
    Can permanently damage eye tissue.
Can result in the formation of potentially carcinogenic nitrates and dioxins.

Safe Alternatives:
-Look for Natural/Organic Body Washes & Soaps. Some great ones are by Burt's Bees, Kiss my Face, and Jason Natural.
-Use organic Castile Soap, this soap is made from an olive oil base, doesn't contain harmful ingredients and is good for the skin.
