The Marker's Diet!!

The Marker's Diet, which is also referred to as The Bible Diet, has been promoted through T.V., Radio, and Literature by motivational speaker Jordan S. Rubin, who says that the books of the bible, such as Deuteronomy and Leviticus, give us instructions on which foods are unclean and forbidden and which foods are clean and acceptable! Mr Rubin even says that this diet cured his Crohn's Disease, which lead him to write the book promoting this diet called "The Maker's Diet". The diet groups foods according to certain factors such as how the food was clean, cooked or raised. The foods in this diet are organic vegetables, fruits and legumes. Those foods would not include anything processed or produced with contact to fertilizers, pesticides, or hormones. Rubin also says certain fish should not be consumed on this diet, such as lobsters, crab, clams, catfish, and eels.

Acceptable (Clean) Foods:
Fruits                                 Fish-bass, trout, salmon, sunfish
Vegetables                        Bird-chicken, turkey, quail
Grains                               Livestock- deer, lamb, cow, caribou, buffalo, elk, goat, moose
Seeds                                Insects-grasshoppers, crickets, locusts
Legumes

Unacceptable (Unclean) Foods:
Bread                    Ostrich                   Breaded Fish                    Mussels
Sugar                    Emu                       Eel                                     Lobster
Potatoes               Ham                       Shark                                 Shrimp
Corn                     Sausage                 Crab                                  Scallops
Pork                     Imitation Meat         Clams                                Craw Fish
Bacon                  Fried Fish               Oyster                                Fried/Breaded Chicken
Lard                     Shortening              Margarine                          Luncheon Meat
Ketchup               BBQ Sauce            Fruit Juice                          Imitation Meat
Soda                    Alcohol                   Coffee                                Baked Goods
Cereal                 Heated Honey         Sugar                                 Artificial Sweetener

Overall this diet has great principals to eat clean, healthy and natural. The problem with this diet is it tends to be overwhelming, especially in the world we live in. I think that the basic guidelines to this diet can be followed and modified per person and situation. Eating according to this diet as best as possible can also help improve your overall health and well-being.
