The Health Risks Associated with MSG!!!

       In the past MSG has been found mostly in Chinese food, but today it is also present in various foods, from chips to sausages.MSG is the synthetic manipulation and processing of glutamate. Glutamate is a amino acid that is found in nature, which the body uses and needs. MSG has been called an excitotoxin, due to its ability overstimulate cells to death. Symptoms associated with MSG are ADD, Headaches, and more serious diseases such as fibromyalgia. Much research has shown that some of the negative effects of MSG occur very quickly. For example a study done on animals found that MSG exposure over 3-6 months, showed significant damages to the animal's retinas. MSG does not occur in whole natural foods, such as fruit, but manufacturers are required to put MSG on the label of their foods.
Foods That Contain MSG:
  • Seasonings and Sauces
  • Packaged and Prepared Foods.
  • Snack Foods- ie: Chips, Dips.
  • Chinese Food
  • Canned Soups
  • Foods from Fast Food and Chain Restaurants.
No MSG Monosodium Glutamate

Ways to Avoid MSG:
  • Cook Your Own Food From Scratch.
  • Read all labels on prepared or processed food.
  • Make homemade soups rather than buying canned.
  • Don't purchase anything with more than 3-5 ingredients.
