The Hazard Under the Sink!!!

There is something in your house right now that is hazardous, unhealthy and could cause diseases in you and your family. House cleaning products contain large amount of non-biodegradable toxic chemicals that are harmful to the earth and human health.

Health Concern Associated with these Products:

Polluting Indoor Air Quality: these products are poisonous if ingested, harmful if inhaled or touched.
Health Problems:Include but are not limited to respiratory and skin irritation, chemical burns and eye problems. But ultimately use of these products can have long terms effects such as cancer.
Environmental Consequences: normal use of these cleaning products can effect the environment. These chemicals can endanger animals, and pollute lakes and oceans.

GO GREEN!!

Now that we are more aware of the effects of these products on our health and environment, more and more green products have hit the market. Green products are non-toxic, biodegradable, and made from renewable resources. Below are a list of some of the best we have found on the market.

Seventh Generation Products-A Vermont based company that has been the leader in green cleaning. They have committed to deep green, and transparency about the ingredients in their products.
Mrs. Meyers Products- These products are based on aromatherapy and are ammonia, chlorine bleach, phosphate, and paraben free, and not tested on animals.
Dr. Bronner's Products-These products are made of naturally derived ingredients that are not tested on animals, and biodegrade rapidly after doing the job.
The Honest Co.-A company that offers green baby products, bath and body products, and cleaning products. Their cleaning products are biodegradable, non toxic and pH neutral.
Make it yourself-Baking soda and Vinegar can be used around your house to clean almost anything. Mix either of those with a little warm water, and BAM you have a homemade all-purpose cleaner.

Bottom line is this, we only get one life and one earth. Both are endangered by the products we use around the house, using green products can help to keep our bodies health and our earth healthy!!
