The new year, brings new goals to lose weight. But what if you don't cook or don't have time to cook, and want to eat better this year. Well author of Eat This, Not That, David Zinczenko, has made his picks for the best diet staples for those to help you lose weight. From soup to dessert, these packaged items are healthy options.
Frozen Food Meal
Helen’s Kitchen Fiesta Black Bean Burrito Bowl
Made with quinoa, spinach, black beans, this tasty meal fills you up without filling you out. Eating more beans can help you lose fat and consume more vitamins – helps you feel more full after a meal.

Soup
Amy’s Organic Light in Sodium Lentil Vegetable
No bizarre ingredients and low in sodium, this option is a perfect fit. Research shows that "spoiling" your appetite with a low-calorie vegetable soup before meals can help you eat less!

Supermarket Bread
Vermont Bread Company Sodium Free Whole Wheat
Vermont Bread Company’s ingredients are entirely pronounceable. A sandwich made with two slices of their sodium free whole wheat gives you 6 grams of protein and 4 grams of fiber before you even put anything in between.

Cheese
Horizon Organic American Singles
Why make a grilled cheese with creepy processed stuff, when Horizon’s product is made from nothing but organic milk products, salts, and enzymes.

Nutrition Bar
KIND Fruit & Nut Bar Nut Delight All Natural
This bar has little more than peanuts, almonds, brazil nuts, walnuts, honey, and a bit of puffed rice and flax seed. Good for just about anything in a pinch.

Energy Drink
GT’S Synergy Gingerberry Kombucha Tea
This is a fermented, fizzy drink made with tea, sugar, friendly bacteria and yeast. A lot of energy drinks contain “trendy” ingredients that claim they help you lose weight and burn fat – but they can be dangerous. Steer clear of dangerous ingredients and opt for this healthy option.

Sweets
Vitalicious Vitabrownie Deep & Velvety Chocolate
Made with real ingredients and light on sugar – you won’t find a healthier dessert on the shelves than this chocolate treat. You can definitely indulge when you’re trying to lose weight!
