How to Eat Out-Healthier!!

So you have a workout buddy right? Someone who encourages you to go to the gym when you just want to sit on the couch. Well new research suggested you should have a food buddy too, someone to encourage you to eat healthy and make good choices. With the holidays upon us there are a lot of parties, and dinners out and you need someone to keep you accountable too. People have shown to eat more in a large group of people, but if you go to dinner, or stick with a like minded friend at a party, you will actually eat less and more healthy. People tend to eat like others, so when you hear your friends choose healthy options, it makes you want to choose healthy as well.

Below are some tips for ordering healthier:

Decide Before- Most restaurants have online menus, before meeting for dinner, when your fairly full after lunch, check out the restaurants online menu and choice your best option then, that way you have time to decide and you wont give into cravings as easily.

Be The First to Order-Its hard enough to eat healthy, but then you order your salad after everyone else has ordered burgers and pasta. Being the first one to order will that care of that may even inspire others to make healthier choices too.

Watch the Portions-Restaurant portions are usually bigger than anything you’d serve yourself at home. If you start getting full when you’re halfway through, ask the server to pack the rest up to go. Then, you won’t over stuff yourself, and you get an extra meal out of it. Who doesn't like two meals for the price of one!?

Say No to Refills- In a recent study, people ate 73 percent more soup when the bowl was secretly refilled as they slurped. As much as you’d like another complimentary basket of bread or another drink, a polite "no thanks," is the way to go.

Part of being healthy and in shape is just by leading a overall healthy lifestyle. Its about making the right and healthy choices over a lifetime, not just those two weeks you decide to do a yo-yo diet. So knowing some healthy lifestyle modifications can help you take your healthy lifestyle anywhere, including through the holidays!!
