Gingerbread Pound Cake!!-The Healthy Version!!

During the holidays people tend to pack on extra pounds due to tasty treats and snacks. But with help from Nutritionist Rachel Beller, we may make it through without gaining the pounds. Her trick is replacing empty calories with nutrient-rich ingredients.

Ingredients
1 1/4 cups whole-wheat pastry flour
1 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup coconut palm sugar
1/2 cup organic low-fat buttermilk
1/4 cup walnut oil
1/2 cup molasses
1 organic egg, lightly beaten

Directions
Preheat oven to 325ºF. In a mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients. Mix until smooth.

Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan. Bake for 1 hour or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
