How to Reduce Your Cortisol Levels Caused by Stress!!

Many health problems are the results of stress. Your body's natural reaction to stress, is release the hormone cortisol. In small amounts cortisol isn't that harmful, but if you experience chronic stress, and elevated cortisol levels, over time you will experience so health issues. BUT there is good news, you can do something about it, you can eat certain foods that will reduce your cortisol levels.
Cortisol Reducing Food:
  • Spinach-Contains magnesium that helps balance your body's production of cortisol. 
  • Beans and Barley-Phosphatidylserine which helps counteract the adverse effects of cortisol. It helps to calm your nerves and improve your sleep.
  • Citrus Fruit-Research has shown that vitamin C rich fruit, like kiwis and oranges help slow the production of cortisol. 
  • Omega-3 Fatty Acids-Studies have shown that Omega 3s not only inhibit inflammation, but also help to reduce cortisol levels ans perceived stress. You can try pills and supplements, or you can just try incorporating foods with high Omega 3 levels in your diet. Foods such as sardines, haddock, flaxseed and walnuts.
  • Zinc-Studies have shown that zinc can help inhibit the secretion of cortisol. Lean pot roast or short ribs can provide substantial amount of your daily zinc needs.
We have discussed before other methods to deal with stress. Combining stress reducing foods, as well as other stress reducing methods, hopefully we can reduce stress almost completely. Stress has such negative effects on the body, and is associate with so many major health problems. Because of at that, and the fact that we can reverse and reduce its important to do anything possible to do so.
